Connection is a key to sobriety in this crazy world. Having a place of gathering for like-minded people to listen and share experiences is undeniably the greatest gift we can give each other.
What other organization so openly accepts you, your thoughts, and individualism? Where else can you be so included in a group even though you are so different? We have strength in numbers. Those numbers are individuals who are there to support you in your journey. They never tell me what not to do or punish me for my actions. They have always been encouraging and help me to stay on the path I have chosen.
Have you noticed as you read the literature that everything is “we” or “our”? We are one and all at the same time. A fellowship is a dominating factor in a person’s recovery. Accepting responsibility for our selves and sharing what we have learned is part of the recovery process.
