A Sunday Storm

Today was pretty quiet all day. I got on my home group’s Zoom meeting at 730am and the lanes community meeting at 1 pm. I won another cup I had been vying for with the rehabs logo. I want to bring one home to the woman who said she’d sponsor me. Just a small gift. Like My friend went to BLANK and all I got was this stupid t-shirt type gift. I also earned one for cleaning the pool area for a videographer to come take shots for a new brochure or something. Yeah me, I volunteered to do work.

The afternoon brought in some wicked sand storms. The wind was blowing at 30 plus miles an hour and I am sure gusting in the 50’s. The sand was so bad the mountains couldn’t be seen in the distance. As I sat in the garage talking to my husband one of the pool floaties drove by. It looked like it was driving. It was one of those big lay-on types and it very easily rode down the road as if it was on a stream. Took me by surprise.

At the gym today I started to get a headache and asked to go to the nursing station to get some Tylenol. They gave it to me before so I didn’t think it would be a big deal but apparently, it is. Since I’m not in-patient they can’t give me anything and told me to just stop at a gas station to get some. I got a little snippy and said I can’t. They insisted it was no big deal and I had to get mad to get across that I can’t leave the lane under any circumstance even a headache. They told me the techs there had some and could give it to me. They still really didn’t understand, the techs here don’t give out meds. They aren’t nurses. I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed back to the bus to take me home. I figured someone on the lane had to have some and I found some. Headache is now gone.

For our evening AA meeting, I stayed home. The rest of the lane went into the garage and had their meeting. I sat and talked with Tri for the hour. She is leaving tomorrow and I wanted to spend more time with her. Other than that it was a slow day.
